Thomas Alston McColl Limehouse London

Iam tracing a Thomas Alston McColl Master Mariner in the Limehouse area of east London during the late 1830's early 1840s. His son Thomas was born in Limehouse in 1840 this is because this area was know for its mearchant navy. Then they moved to Hull. Iam not so sure if Thomas got to Hull as he died in his 40's. Thomas son was also called Thomas Alston and the generations next used the name. If any one can help me Id much apreciate it
Thanks
Mark
