Hi Amy! Thank you for writing - I am excited to know someone else from this line - most people in South Carolina are from other McColl lines and no kin to me at all.
I would love to have some pictures - thank you for offering. Could you send me your line of descent? Or do you have it posted someplace? I have just found out about Alexander McCowel so don't have it all worked out yet.

I am also descendant of Samuel Allen, one of the founders of Windsor, CT- came with a group from west of England.
So I could swing up through CT and then VT - going by way of MD, as my Baker family came from Maurice Baker, one of the founders of Anne Arundel County, MD back in mid 1600's.
Of course my McColls were from Scotland, but later they mixed with Dutch from New York City (New Amsterdam) and I also have French in my lines, so I am a true American - a fruit salad!
