My grandfather was WILLIE E MCCOLGAN b. Jan 18, 1883 in Porterville, Lincoln Co, WVA. He died Oct. 2, 1954 in Cabell Co, WVa & was married 1st to Alpha Gullian & 2nd to my grandmother BERTHA MAE BILLS. He had half brothers by the name of James David, John Wesley, & Robert E. They lived in Lincoln Co, WVa. His mother was Mary Porter. She listed James McColgan as his (WILLIE'S)father on the birth record, but James had died March 20, 1875, so there is no way he was his actual father. We don not even hava a clue as to who his father is & probably never will. The McColgan family are really of no connection to me by blood, but I would like to know their history anyway.
