Hi Carol

I have just come back from a 2 day trip to Dublin in order to find out more about the McColgan family. I believe that my email address is now sent to you with this message if not it is as follows (paul at peaco dot demon dot co dot uk) I have written it in long hand as some sites filter out addresses.

What I have so far is that James McColgan married Annie Toner in Belfast. James was a farmer from Coolatee Co. Donegal. He was the son of John McColgan also a Farmer. The marriage was the 4th June 1868. They had James on the 18th Dec 1871 in Strabane which is literally a couple of miles just over the border from Coolatee in Co. Tyrone. Their second son Patrick was born in Hull in 1873, Then Joseph in 1875 (although I cant find a reference to his birth. Then John 1876 (d 1877) John 1879, Mary 1881, Catherine Agnes 1883 (d 1894) and finally Charles Edward 1885). I have Joseph marrying maria Doyle and not Patrick as you suggest. Mary Colgan (she dropped the Mc) married James William Peacock in Hull. James and Mary are my grandparents.

I would welcome any information that you have. If you send anything to my home address I can forward you more of what I have. I am writing up what I found in Dublin at the moment. I also have a few documents.

I look forward to hearing from you

Paul Peacock
