I am trying to find the family of Martha McCoach dob around 1845. She was either born in Philadelphia or Ireland. She married a John Hutton and lived in Philadelphia. Their daughter, Clara Hutton, dob 1876/77, married George W Schaffer/Shaffer. My understanding is that were Scot Irish, not Catholic. My mother was always sure it was Clara McCoach. Death records indicate her last name was Hutton, with mother Martha McCosh (sic). In one entry in the 1860 Philadelphia census a Martha McCoach is 15 years old, living with siblings (Robert, Wm, Eliz and James) and mother Mary A McCoach, age 50. I know my Clara Hutton Schaffer worked as a cook in some rich household in Philadelphia at some point.
