I am the great-granddaughter of Rev. James Edward McClurkin (b. 11/15/1864 d. 12/17/1933)who married 12/29/1869 in Alabama, Lucy Bell O'Gwynn (b. 12/18/1869 d. 1/12/1949). They are buried in Amarillo, Potter Co., TX. Rev. James Edward McClurkin had a brother named John, but we don't know anything about him. Our records indicate that he was unmarried.
Rev. James and John McClurkin's father was also James McClurkin who married Amanda (last name unknown). This James also had a brother named John (b. 11/18/1845 d.5/18/1901) who married Nancy Ann white (b. 10/12/1845 d. 8/8/1916). They had 11 children, one of them named James Andrew (b. 10/10/1880) who married Viola (last name unknown).
My records indicate that these two sets of James and John McClurkins were the children and grandchildren of James McClurkin (b. 1790 d. 1849--buried at sea) who married in 1819 Mary Kirkpatrick (b. 1802 d. 1892)
I'm interested in learning more about this particular McClurkin family. Thank you.
