Are the James and Elizabeth (Scothorn) McClurg you mention listed in 1850 as James McClary [sic] 72 PA Mechanic with Elizah. 79 VA, at household #1384, just a bit after William and Eliza McClurg at housedhold #1382? I've always figured the McClary was a transcription error. Have I been incorrect in my assumptions?
