David McClure of Donegal twp, Lancaster Co Pa
David McClure of Donegal township is one of the earliest McClures in Pa where he was established by 1724.He lived in the area that is today Conoy Township. His wife was Margaret Chambers, dau of Randle Chambers, another early settler of Donegal township.David died in 1749 leaving 6 sons and 3 daughters.A number of David's sons moved to Baltimore Maryland where they were merchants in 1770 when they sold their inherited land, but I have had a difficult time learning what happened to them. The Revolutionary War may have forced them to migrate elsewhere? The 6 sons were:
William (d. single before 1770),Randal/Randle (remained in Donegal twp),David,John,Alexander, and James. In 1770 David,John, and Alexander were merchants in Baltimore.James was still in Lancaster County in 1770.
Any help will be appreciated.
