Your inquiry is so old that I do not know if this is still your address?Did you develop evidence for Alice McClure's husband? It seems to me it has to be Halbert McClure who was killed in an Indian massacre in 1782 in Washington Co Va.I do not know why some give him the name "James" Halbert McClure, but I'm sure that is wrong.Others have tied Alice to James McClure who d 1799 in Augusta Co,but his wife and children are proven in a lawsuit. The old records of the Indian massacre seem to just call Halbert's wife, the "Widow" McClure, but they prove it was their daughter Sally who married Hobson Kincaid that year.Do you agree that Sally is the eldest daughter of Alice McClure? It seems to me that if one accepts Sally McClure Hobson as a daughter of Alice, then they have to accept Alice's deceased husband as Halbert McClure. This is not my own lineage so perhaps I have not given it enough thought, but this is how the evidence stacks up to me.
