Sharon,
I have a Jane A. McClure, said to have been born in VA about 1795 or so, and shortly after 1800 came with her family to Pendleton District, SC, a part of which later became Anderson Co. There she married Thomas Baldwin Clark in the early 1800's. Her father was said to be Josiah, and her mother ? a Hamilton. I so far have not been able to definitely identify her with her parents and siblings. She and Thomas Clark had 14 children. They left SC for Benton Co., AL in the 1830's, moved to Winston Co., MS about 1843, where Thomas died. Mary moved to north LA with some of her children, and she died there at a ripe old age.
Any help in locating Jane A. McClure and her family will be much appreciated.
It is interesting to note that she named her oldest son Josiah Allison Clark, and another son James Hamilton Clark, from whom I am descsended.
