Hello all McClory researchers. You will know that I have waited a year, or more for this! No confirmed connections to my own branch was supplied, but they did supply the following general Mcclory information which hopefully will help some other researchrs. Please think about it, I would love someone to come up with a connection for me! Confirmed, James McClory, father Andrew Mcclory, [mother Elizabeth Campbell,] married Sarah Sheeran in Loughbrickland RC Church in 1868. Margaret Mcclory born circa 1825, married Robert Patton on 22/2/1848 at Aghaderg Church of Ireland. Her father was Andrew McClory. At Aghaderg RC Church, on 19/12/1861, Elizabeth Mcclory married Daniel Sheeran. witnesses were Patrick Campbell and Rose Campbell. Matilda McClory married Henry Moore at Aghaderg RC Church on 11/10/1863 One witness was Andrew McClory [I understand my Matilda married a Henry Mone, same date, church etc.???] Two marriages at Loughbrickland RC Church: Hugh Mcclory in 1875. James Mcclory in 1881. Griffiths Valuation information: Date of valuations was 1864. Andrew Mcclory at Glaskerbeg East A number of unspecified McClorys in Aghaderg Andrew McClory at number 18b Glaskerbeg, gone from the property by 1868 [James aylmer succeeds by 1881 Andrew had originally leased an 11 acre farm from William Todd, which was worth £12. James Mcclory at 9b Glaskerbeg East, date not shown. 1901 census: Glaskerbeg East: James Mcclory Shoemaker,53 yrs, and wife Mary 46 yrs. children: Lizzie, aged 14yrs Maggie, aged 12 yrs, William, aged 10 yrs, John, aged 8yrs. All Roman catholic, children could read and write. In Glaskermore, Joseph McClory, 7 yrs, grandson of John mcGivern, a 60 yr old labourer. Registration: Elizabeth McClory in Banbridge district in 1875. Baptism: Mary Mcclory, daughter of Michael Mcclory and Mary McPolin on 4/5/1875. Marriages: Andrew mcClory to Martha Flood on 6/11/1817 John Mcclory to Mary Divine on 1/7/1819 Patrick mcclory married an Isabella ?? on 25/4/1819 John McClory married Ann Ward on 2/6/1824 James McClory married Lily Magennis on 14/11/1826 [One of the witnesses was Andrew McClory WILLS INDEXES McClory Hugh, Ballynaskeagh, probated 1839 Hugh, Lisnacroppin, 1842 Hugh, Lisnavaghrol, 1855 ORIGINS The UHF say that the Mcclorys clearly originated in Aghaderg, it would appear that their antecedants came from the ajoining parish of Drumballyroney They found both a Hugh and a Patrick in the Drumballyroney Flax lists The Flax lists were published, they say, in 1796. So, nothing concrete in it for me, so far, but I live in hope.[Although not very patiently!] Happy hunting. Notify Administrator about this message?
