Congressman McClory was my Grandmother's younger brother. There were 6 children in the family - Theophilus "Theo", Harry, Olive, Mildred, Robert, Elizabeth and Fredrick Jr. Their parents were Fredrick Stevens McClory and Catherine Reilly. They were married in Chicago, IL and that is the area where the children grew up. It is believed that Fredrick Sr was born in Quincy, Mass as was his father Harry Clement McClory.
The Congressman lived his adult life between Lake Bluff, IL and Washington DC. He was a member of Congress as a Representative. The “McClory Trail”, part of the GIT (Grand Illinois Trail), is named after him. Strangely, it is public record that he had no middle name so that meant that he is often listed as Robert NMI McClory, (No Middle Initial)
