Dear Joe:
Thanks much for the message.I now have a new surname (Oglbee) to add to my list.
I do not have too much about the McClintocks.
William's father was Michael McClintock. He and his wife came to New England about 1722.They MAY have been from Belmorry Antrium County, Ireland (and probably moved to Ireland from Scotland). They went to Londonderry, NH.They are listed in the town history as being among the earliest settlers (around 1733) in what is now Manchester.
The history also says Michael and William built the first bridge across the Cohoes, and another on the Little Cohoes, on the road from Amoskeag to Derry in 1738.
In 1752 the Town (now Manchester) voted to have public worship services in the barns of William McClintock and Benjamin Stevens. They also voted that the minister would be kept at William McClintocks.
I knew that William and Agnes had two children (Alexander who married Janet Gamble in 1760 and had 8 children in Derryfield, and Mary [my ancestor], born in 1740 in Francestown. She married David Starrett in 1760 in Maine and died in 1785).And now you have shown me they also had a son, John.
Good luck in your research.
Craig
