I think I found James' Parents:

Descendants of David McCleskey

Generation No. 1

1. David McCleskey was born Abt. 1735 in Ireland and died WFT Est. 1759-1826. He married Mary Henderson b. Bet. 1715-1742 in Ireland sometime before 1755.

Child of David McCleskey and Mary Henderson is:
+ 2 i. James McCleskey, born January 20, 1755 in Gaines, Pennsylvania; died October 20, 1842 in Hall Co., GA..

Generation No. 2

2. James McCleskey (David) was born January 20, 1755 in Gaines, Pennsylvania, and died October 20, 1842 in Hall Co., GA.. He married Isabella Rhea 1771 in Abbeville, SC, daughter of Robert Rhea and Sarah Bingham.

Notes for James McCleskey:
As a young man in his 20's, James McCleskey fought in the Revolutionary War against King George of England. Very little is known at this time about the parents of James McCleskey. At least one source says that his Fathers name was David. It is also possible that his mothers maiden name was Henderson. Research is ongoing on his line.

Children of James McCleskey and Isabella Rhea are:
3 i. Isabella McCleskey, born Bef. 1783.
4 ii. Joseph McCleskey, born Bef. 1783.
5 iii. David Henderson McCleskey, born August 02, 1783 in Abbeville Dist., S.C.; died November 29, 1879 in Marshall Co., AL. He married Martha Jane (Patsy) Jarrett.
6 iv. Martha McCleskey, born 1785.
7 v. James Rhea McCleskey9, born February 16, 1788.

Believe it or not I wrote the notes about the parents of James McCleskey several months ago, -- a clear case of dumb luck no doubt.
