Hi Chris, thanks for your reply.
I am currently away from home and holidaying with my mother, who has been filling me in will more interecting info about the Mclemons/McClymonts.
The McLemons definately changed their name to McClymont at some point between Avoch and Glasgow (Blantyre).
George is a family name ,My Great grandmother was Helen McClymont, my Great Grandfather was John Hastie from Blantyre.
Helen's father was ?Gordon, and her uncle was David McClymont who was a sea captain.
Their father was ,I think, George McClymont who died off Avoch whilst fishing-he was a fisherman.
However, I will email more details more accurately when I have written down what my mother has been telling me.So watch this space for more accurate info!
Cheers,
Bethany.(My real name is Helen, named for my great grandmother.)
