Hi Bethany
thanks for the thoughts on other possible names
certainly there is a George McLeman
born Avoch circa 1856 in the 1861 and move across the firth to inverness as a farm servant in 1871
who has vanished from Invernessin 1881

I did wonder if George was orphaned
and adopted by McClymont but as you say there dont seem to be any McClymont in Avoch
of course he could have done some sort of crime and changed and flead to the big city and changed his name
