Hello Everybody
How are you?? Well to begin my name is Mary Margaret McCliment, and I do know for a fact that my last name was diffrently spelt way back when. When my g-g-grandmother came over on the ship she was only 8 years old when she came to the states from Glasglow the county of Carluke, Lanark,in Scotland. Her parents which were James Kilpatrick and Ann Mcknight. I can go back further but I wont for now (HA HA) When my g-g-grandmother married she married my g-g-grandfather James McCliment he was born in 1862 dont know where the month or day. I do know Scotland. He died in Hawk Run Pennsylvania on 22 JAN 1927. Since he was also born in Scotland I dont know when he took the ship over with his parents??!!! So sometime between the ship trip and proably getting off the wonderful boat, or grandpa's death there is endless possibilities to this, there was a more than likely a name change. My great uncle, we called him Uncle Pooch (but his real name was Andrew) said that more than likely that it would have been changed at the boat when they take your names. And that the spelling would proably be McClement
So if there is anyone out there that is researching this please email me. If anyone has information on Hawk Run, which not many do mind you heheheh its a blink of an eye.....If you know any information on the McCliment/McClements/or the Kilpatricks I would appreciate it.
