I am not sure of any connection,but will give you this info. My grt grt grandfather was was THOMAS McCLYMONT married to ANNE (ANN) CUNNINGHAM , as far as I am aware in the Buitle area. Their children, from what I have been able to find were James b1835, Alexander Cunningham b 1838,(my gt grandfather) George McTaggart, Agnes Jane b184? and another son, ?DOB. Alexander Cunningham married Isabella McKinnon in NZ and moved to northern NSW in about 1880. They had 14 children. I have no idea of any siblings of Thomas McClymont. All I know he was a farmer. The dates in relation to your McClymonts don't quite fit but they may well be related.Alex C McC actually calld one of his sons Hugh, but he was born after 1880.I agree the McClymonts are hard to research!
