Hello Ben,

I may have some information that may assist you. Samuel would have been my great, great, great grandfather. My Dad has a copy of a newspaper clipping that was printed after his death. It has a lot of informtion about his death. His son William was the father of my great grandmother Sara who married Ernest Cutler. Apparently he came to Australia on the General Caufield in 1864 but I have looked through passenger list of this ship & have not been able to find his name.
I should be able to get a copy of the newspaper clipping or send you info from it should you want. Have you found more info since you left this message and how are you related to him?
All the best with your search
