I need time to sift through your recent data from this site. I happened upon this site while trying to find more data on some Ewing and 'McClurg' family groups (as spelled in the 1870 census).

1870 Van Buren Co., Jackson Twp., IA has two 'McClurg' brothers, Jacob,27 (with wife and son) and Daniel, 26. Their Mother, Violetta, 57; and sister, Catherine, 32, who is married to Joseph EWING live together. I believe Joseph Ewing is kin to me. I have been unable to find him in later census.

With the marriages of Ewings and McCleay's in PA, I think there are some definite connections.

If I can make some connections here, I may be able to climb over my Ewing brick wall!

Any help you might give me would be greatly appreciated.

Kaaren Avery
