I don't have the name for James wife Jane. The name appears in a deed by which James I assigned a tract of land in Armstrong County, PA, to his son, James II, in return for which the son was to provide care for James I and Jane in their old age. This deed is dated 9 April, 1802, so Jane died at a date later than that. The deed can be found in the records of Westmoreland County in Greensburg, PA. I suspect that this was because Armstrong County was very newly organized at the time.
Which of James I children does your line descend from? I am in the process of writing a history of James I and his family during their time in Pennsylvania. There are six known lines descending from James I: that of Robert, Mary, James, Nancy, Charles and Elizabeth. There are genealogies for all but that of Nancy that I know of.
