Sonja,
The 1870 census lists an E. Lankford, age 48 in District 11 on pg. 575, first household. Some of her children, including Mary E. and John are still living with her.Her son Bird M. is listed on pg. 581.In 1880, Minerva and her children Bird M. and John C. are listed in Hickman Co., TN, ED 90, Sheet 2, District 11.Nearby, on sheet 5 is her daughter, Mary.James K., Bird M., John C. and Joel G.(Green) Mcclaren all moved to Ripley Co., MO.Minerva went too and is listed in the 1900 Ripley Co., Mo census at ED 96, Sheet 12, with Bird M.Minerva is buried in Ripley Co., Mo. but I can't remember the name of the cemetery right now.I have a copy of her obituary somehwere; maybe I can dig it up.
Also check for Minerva in the 1850 Hickman Co. census on page 42.She is listed as Elizabeth, age 25.Her children are Robert, age 12, Joel, age 4 and Mary, age 1.No husband is listed.
I don't know if this is even the Langford family that I am looking for; I've just gathered all this data in my search. How are you connected to this family?Have you ever heard anything regarding a child named, William Eugene, born in 1883, being given up for adoption.I am trying to determine if William Eugene, might be the son of Minerva's boy, John.
Good luck,
Barbara
