I'm searching for more information on Thomas McClain and on his brother, John McClain, who married Isabelle Wasson early 1800's in Rockbridge co, VA. Thomas married Sarah "Sally" Wilson, same Rockbridge Co, VA. Sarah d. 1841 Gallia Co, Oh and Thomas mar. Sarah Denton. Thomas was a War of 1812 Vet and supposedly died in McLean Co, IL Feb 1855. However, I live in McLean Co, IL and have no death or burial record for a Thomas McClain even though there are extensive records for all Revol. & 1812 soldiers. I do not know the origin of the information. Thomas' widow dies in IA and is buried in Knox co, IL.
