Martha Hughes McClane, born in Illinois in 1818? married to Simeon Teter in St. Clare county in Illinois in 1835. Who was she and who were her parents? She is my gg grandmother. Children were Reuben James Teter, Susana Virginia Teter, Philip Andrew Jackson Teter (my Great Grandfather), Martha Jane Teter, Mary Ann Teter, Dorothy Lucinda Teter, Frances Illinois Teter, Simeon Teter and Rebecca Charlotte Teter. The only McClane I could find in St. Clair county in 1820 was a Samuel McClain, he had two daughters under the age of 15 at that time according to the census. Note the difference in the spelling of the surname, don't know if it means anything. Any help appreciated.
