Researching descendants of Reverend William MARTIN, b. 16 May 1729, Ballyspollum, near Ballykenny County, Londonderry, Ireland, son of David MARTIN, of Londonderry, Ireland and of his three wives:

“Prior to his [ Reverend William Martin, 1829-1807] death he had given much of his land to his nephews, William and David Martin, and Hugh Wilson.” Chester Co, S.C. Deed Book G, pp. 218, 256, 257.

“[Reverend] William Martin married first Mary ----, who died in Ireland;…” Mrs. E. F. Ellet, Domestic History of the American Revolution (1851) P. 181.

“…second, Jenny Cherry, in Ireland, about 1771,…” Chester Co., S.C. Deed Book G, PP. 218, 256, 257.

“…and third, Susanna-----, who survived him.” Chester Co., S.C. Deed Book G, P. 257. [Susannah was enumerated in the Last Will and Testament of Reverend William MARTIN as ' his wife, Susannah BOGGS'

Reverend William MARTIN led over 500 families, members of his congregation(s) of Kellswater, Ireland to South Carolina between mid summer 1772 to mid January 1773 aboard five ships: Lord Dunluce, Hopewell, Pennsylvania Farmer, Free Mason, and the snow, James & Mary subsequently obtaining land grants in areas of [today's] Newberry, Abbeville, Chester Counties, South Carolina, etc...former Craven, Granville, Colleton, etc. counties....

Interested in corresponding further with researchers of the MARTIN, McCAW, STINSON [STEPEHNSON], WILSON families and in particular, with emphasis on descendants of daughters, Jennet M. MARTIN, 1766-1841 m. 1785 James WILSON, 1763-1845, late of Sparta, Randolph Co, IL;

and descendants of daughter, thought to be Nancy Stinson MARTIN [she predeceased her father before 1807] & m. John McCAW, of York District, SC,

which may [or may not have] have included Agatha McCAW HUFF / HOFF [w/o Jonathan], 1773-1830.

Further, interested in documenting or discounting a second marriage of widow Susannah BOGGS MARTIN, third wife of Reverend William MARTIN, 1829-1807, Chester County, South Carolina, to John HAVIS, of Fairfield District, SC. The Last Will and Testament, 15 Aug 1807, of John HAVIS, of Fairfield District, SC enumerates
grandchildren...."....Susannah Martin, Mary Martin, and Elisabeth MARTIN...." --interested in exploring further the relationship of these three granddaughters: Susannah, Mary and Elisabeth MARTIN to Reverend William MARTIN, if any relationships exists....
