I am descended to the following family through my grandmother. I would be interested in further information on the family and their married connections in Scotland and elsewhere.
1. JOHN MCCAW was born 1656 in Glaisters,Kirkcudbrightshire, and died March 1735/36 buried at Balmaclellan churchyard-Kirkcudbrightshire. He married MARGARET GRIERSON. She died April 1767 in Balmaclellan, Kirkcudbrightshire.
Child of JOHN MCCAW and MARGARET GRIERSON is:
2. i. ROBERT MCCAW, b. 1726, Kirkcudbrightshire; d. 4 July 1806, interred at Balmacllenan.

2. ROBERT MCCAW was born 1726 in Kirkcudbrightshire, and died 4 July 1806 interred at Balmacllenan. He married ANN CUNNINGHAM 1781. She was born 1751, and died 8 February 1814 in interred at Balmacllenan. She was the sister of the last Earl of Glencairn who died a batchelor.
Children of ROBERT MCCAW and ANN CUNNINGHAM are:
i. JOHN3 MCCAW, b. 1783, Cormilligan.
ii. WILLIAM MCCAW, b. February 1785, Cormilligan; d. May 1853.
iii. ROBERT MCCAW, b. 1787, Cormilligan; d. 14 February 1820, buried at Tynron churchyard.
iv. JAMES MCCAW, b. 1789, Cormilligan.
v. ALEXANDER MCCAW, b. 1791, Cormilligan; d. 1871.

3. JOHN MCCAW was born 1783 in Cormilligan. He married ANNE GRIERSON. She was born 1781, and died 1815 in Tynron.
Children of JOHN MCCAW and ANNE GRIERSON are:
i. JAMES MCCAW, m. HARRIET SHARP.
ii. ISABELLA MCCAW.
iii. ANN MCCAW.
4. WILLIAM MCCAW was born February 1785 in Cormilligan, and died May 1853. He married (2) HELEN TOD June 1817, daughter of THOMAS TOD, OF KILNHOUSE, AUCHNECHEYNE. She died 30 July 1871.
Children of WILLIAM MCCAW are:
i. ANN MCCAW, m. MR HENGAN.
ii. JEAN MCCAW, m. THOMAS TODD.
Child of WILLIAM MCCAW and HELEN TOD is:
iii. ROBERT MCCAW, b. 7 April 1818; d. 26 February 1895, buried in Glencairn chuchyard; m. ELIZABETH BARBOUR, OF MONIAIVE; b. 1822; d. 5 October 1899, buried in Glencairn chuchyard.
5. ROBERT MCCAW was born 1787 in Cormilligan, and died 14 February 1820 in buried at Tynron churchyard. He married MARY CORRIE 1816. She was born 1796, and died 16 January 1870 in interred at Tynron.
Children of ROBERT MCCAW and MARY CORRIE are:
i. JAMES MCCAW, b. 25 May 1817; d. 28 May 1902; m. ANN ARMSTRONG, 6 November 1851; d. 5 May 1892.
ii. WILLIAM MCCAW, b. 10 September 1818, Cormilligan; d. 6 April 1902, Milton NZ; m. ISABELLA TODD, 5 January 1849; b. 5 February 1827, Auchenbenzie Scotland; d. 16 January 1911, Milton NZ.
iii. JEAN MCCAW, b. 9 December 1819; d. 18 December 1905; m. THOMAS ARMSTRONG; b. 1814, Glencairn; d. 29 September 1898, Victoria Aust.
6. ALEXANDER MCCAW was born 1791 in Cormilligan, and died 1871. He married MARTHA MCCALL.
Children of ALEXANDER MCCAW and MARTHA MCCALL are:
i. MARGARET MCCAW, b. 4 January 1829.
ii. WILLIAM MCCAW.
iii. JAMES MCCAW.
iv. ROBERT MCCAW.
