Hello All,
I am trying to find information on Charles McCausland who married Eliza Deloria (Deslaurier) in Clinton County NY on 25 December 1852. I would like to find Eliza's parents. I believe they are Antoine Renaud dit Deslaurier and Emelie Aupry dit Laramee. The names are confusing. The typed record lists him as 'Charles McEslang' but that name is not found anywhere in NY. We think it is McCausland. Census takers spelled names as they sounded and foreign names did (and do) get changed. Eliza might be listed as 'Marie' or 'Aurelia.' Any help would be appreciated.
