Hi, I tried to post a message a few weeks ago, but I don't see it posted; so, I will try again. I think I am part of your McCaughey family. My mom is Eleanor Mary McCaughey Shea from Springfield, MA. She was born in Pawtucket, RI, in 1930. Her father is John Emmett McCaughey, born 1902 in Central Falls, RI. I believe my mom is your grandfather James McCaughey's cousin. My grampy (John Emmett) had four brothers: James, Joseph, Eugene, and Frank (Francis). Joseph died early, Eugene moved to Maine, Frank lived in Seekonk, MA, and Jim moved to Allentown, PA. I knew my great Uncle Jim the best. He was married to my great aunt Jo. They had one adopted daughter, Kathy. Uncle Jim also had a son James from a first marraige. My mom said divorce in those days was very difficult, and it caused a divide in the family. I think I met your grandfather Jim (my great Uncle Jim's son) only once at Kathy's wedding in Bethlehem, PA.
My grandfather (John Emmett) worked for Gulden Mustard. He married Margaret (Rita) Flanagan from Roscommon, Ireland. They had two daughters my mother Eleanor, and my aunt Rita whose married name is Relihan. I hope this helps.

Nancy Shea
