No, I don't know anything about Sebern's parents, and didn't mean to get your hopes up about that : ). I only meant that immigrants flooded the continent around the time Sebern was born and perhaps it wouldn't be illogical to check immigration records to look for the name McCathern since it is Scottish in origin. Maybe we're looking for them in the wrong place assuming they were born on the continent when no one knows anything about them, even their names. I've been trying to access some info but with no luck so far. I'll certainly let you know if I find anything.
