McCathern/McCaghren genealogy

I,m wondering if my McCaghren lines are related to the McCathern lines in America. We pronounce our McCaghren as if it were spelled McCatherine. Henry and Margaret McCaghren came to Charleston, S.C. in 1789 and lived in York Co., S.C. until the mid 1820's when they moved to Walton Co., Ga. They moved to the Cleburne, Calhoun and Cherokee co., Alabama area in the 1830's.
I would be interested in knowing if any McCathern researchers have "run" across the McCaghren spelling.
