Hello Ileshia,

My father was your grandfather Ernest's first cousin. Here is what I know about the McCathern's off the top of my head. Ernest's father was Kervin Walter McCathern (1909-1966) and his mother was Elizabeth White. Kervin's father was William James Costello McCathern (formerly McEachern) (1856-1926) and his mother was Leila May Copeland (1887-1920). William James Costello McEachern's father was William Daniel McEachern (1834-1862) and his mother was Miriam Ann Corbett (1834-1900). William Daniel McEachern was a Confederate Soldier who died of disease while in service. William Daniel McEachern's father was William H. McEachern (1805-1861) and his mother was Martha Elisabeth (last name unknown) (1798-1876). William H. McEachern's father was James McEachern (abt. 1774-1815) and his mother was Rebecca Allen (1781-1860). James McEachern's father was believed to be Daniel McEachern (bef. 1755-1812) and his mother was a Miss McNeill. Daniel McEachern immigrated from the Island of Islay, Scotland to Robeson County, NC sometime before the American Revolution. Hope this helps. I live in Sumter, SC.
