McCaskill Family Genealogy Forum

Hello, my wife, who is a McCaskill decedent through Finlay, and I just returned from Scotland. Unfortunately, we were unable to uncover any additional information about Finlay, but were able to walk the ground the family farmed. The actual name of the hamlet is Bualintur. The weather for the couple of days we were in Skye was not very good or else we would have made the 3 mile trek to the old home place where Finlay lived on Loch Brittle. We were told by the farmer presently farming the old McCaskill farm was the roof is gone, but the walls are intact for the most part. We did visit the ruins of a church in Eynort which has some MaCaskills buried there, but the only legible grave was one of a Mary who died in 1866 at 91 years of age. We also, visited the Dunscaith Castle ruins which earlier MaCaskills were the keepers during the 14th and 15th century. It was fascinating.
What we are trying to find out is where Finlay's son Daniel, died ca. 1798 in NC, is buried. I know you are not of that lineage, but if anyone else knows where his grave is, we would be grateful for that information.
Regards,
Rick Hodapp
