I guess it's possible. I don't know when Jane Wo(o)lsey McCarty died. I know that William F. McCarty and children are listed in the Woodland & Richland, Texas County, MO census without her. I can always write to the recorder of deeds and check if there are any records for William in San Jaoquin.

I just wish that I could locate the family in 1860, *somewhere*!!! According to that 1870 census, one daughter, Louiza, age 9, was born in Missouri. William T. was born approx. 1853 in Missouri, but Mary Elizabeth and Mariah M. were both born between William and Louiza, both in California.

But *where* in California???

I'll send a letter to Stockton and see what happens.
