The very first Mccartys to go to Kentucky with Daniel Boone were the pioneers around the "falls of the Ohio."(today Louisville) KY was :Indian Hunting Ground and was really not open for settlement but people came any way.One of the McCArty Wives was killed by Indians in KY.They were The Descendants of Darby McCarty and Hannah Richardson of Shenendoah Va. You will probably find Darby's son Jonathan and perhaps some of his brothers and sisters there. Most of the men folk moved up into Indianna but some of the McCArty girls ;married and stayed in KY. Genton the Internet and do a search under Darby McCArty and SonsJonathan etc.
Let me know what you learn.
regards
Ned McCarty 5th Grandson of Darby
