The Jonathan Lewis from the 1870/1880 DeKalb Cnty AL census records was born around 1816 in KY. The Jonathan and Nancy Lewis I am researching are from Crawford County, GA., and was born in NC abt 1784-1785. Nancy was b. GA 1791-1792. They appear in the 1860 Coffee Cty, AL census living with their daughter Charlotte and Hilliard Free. Their ages in 1860 were 76 and 70. I am their g-g-g-grandson through their 7th child Zachariah Lewis. I am actually trying to name all of Jonathan and Nancy's children. I have only named 5 out of their 10 children thus far, Jesse b. abt 1811, Zachariah b.1820, Nancy b.1822, Charlotte, b. 1823, Martha E. b. 1825-1830. I am trying to prove that Elizabeth is one of their daughters. If I am successful, there will still be 2 girls and 2 boys that I have not found. Early census reports are the problem in that only the numbers of children were enumerated and not the names and ages. Thank you for responding and if you do find anything on Elizabeth Lewis and Morgan McCarthy, Please let me know. Cheers, Malcom Lee
