i have James McCarthy marrying Margaret Scott in 1885. I know the family were living in the Irishtown area and I have a Patrick McCarthy and Anestasia McCarthy as witnesses at their marriage.
James was born in Rathkeale 1863 but I have no idea as to the relationship with Patrick who attended the wedding.
James had a brother William born around 1872-5 in Clonmel.
Their parents were John McCarthy and Mary (nee) Mulcahy from Bruff, born around 1830-5 and married (in Bruff) 1855...so somewhere there may be a 'death' of a John McCarthy or Mary McCarthy in Clonmel region that ties in with this.
Any pointers, assistance would be greatly appreciated.
