Hey Guys!
This stuff is getting better...
There were two Rev. William Homes who were cousins.Parish of Urney supposedly sits in County Tyrone and County Cavan, Northern Ireland.
The Church of Cahans, County Cavan, Northern Ireland - is the church that the Rev. Dr. Thomas Clark left and came to America and started a church in New York state, and also came to Abbeville County, SC to pastor Long Cane and Cedar Springs Churches.
Regarding the Parish of Ardstraw...
The Rev. Alexander Colhoun (Calhoun) (1662 - 1717) married Judith Hamilton.
Alexander and Judith had a son named James Patrick Calhoun who was born in 1688 in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and passed away in 1741 in PA.
The Rev. Alexander Colhoun (Calhoun) and Judith Hamilton are buried at the PARISH IN ARDSTRAW.
James Patrick Calhoun (Born:1688) married Catherine Montgomery.
James and Catherine had a son named Patrick Calhoun, Esq.
Patrick Calhoun, Esq. signed the military indent of Moses McCarter in 1785 in Abbeville County, SC.
The Rev. Dr. Thomas Clark read the death notice of Robert McCarter, son of Moses McCarter on 12/25/1791 before the congregation at Long Canes church. The next day, the Rev. Thomas Clark passed away.
Rev. Clark's estate sale was held the following spring in 1792 and Capt. John McCarter, Moses McCarter's son, and Fleming Bates, Moses McCarter's son-in-law attended the estate sale.
Fleming Bates drew up his will in 1801 and appointed the Col. Joseph Calhoun as one of his executors.
Very interesting.Don't you think?
Thank you,
Anna Walker
