Back then females named Mary were called Polly,Margaret were called Peggy, and Sarah called Sallie/Sally.

I can see that you are trying to find McCarters in Indiana before 1840, since Polly passed away in 1842 - preferably in Morgan or Johnson County, Indiana. Let me check something.
