You mentioned John McCarter of Sevier County, TN. The first known John McCarter of Sevier County, TN was the son of James McCarter, Sr. and Rebecca Ogle. John McCarter married Nancy Anderson. Nancy's grave marker states that she was born on 3/6/1794 and passed away on 6/23/1893. She is buried in the Clear Springs Cemetery in Sevier County, TN. I don't think Nancy could have had a daughter old enough to marry in 1811. Could you be referring to a different John McCarter altogether?
