Hello, I am looking for information about my great grandmother. Her name was Margaret (McCarron) Hughes. There are 2 stories re: her birthplace--she was born in Salem, Ma. or she was born on Salem St. in Boston, Ma. She and my great grandfather Henry F. Hughes married in 1883, in Worcester Ma.(The Sacred Heart of Jesus church). The witnesses for the marriage were James Scannell and Lueanna McCarron. Margaret's parents were Patrick and Catherine (Faulkner) McCarron--both born in Ireland. Patrick was a steam fitter and I believe before her marriage Margaret may have worked as a weaver in the textile industry. I thought I had narrowed the search for Margaret's birth--I had found a baptismal record from St. James church, Salem Ma--baptismal on 13 Jan 1858 of Margaret McCarron born 11 Jan 1858, parents Patrick and Catherine. The sponsors were Thomas Meahan and Margaret Gilligan. But now an aunt has suggested that Margaret was born on Salem St. in Boston, Ma. She died in 1929 in Boston Ma. Neither my father nor his siblings know any of her (Margaret's) siblings names. I appreciate any help. thank you.
