McCarron Family Genealogy Forum

Well, it's interesting. I once tried to get together a family geneology and the one branch that remained a mystery was the McCarron branch. We were told that my great grandfather, Robert McCarron, was an orphan and that nothing was known about his parents. He settled in Dubuque IA where he married our great grandmother. Dubuque and that region of Iowa were famous for pork farms and packing industry. A friend from Ireland said that County Monaghan is the "bacon" region of Ireland and that that McCarron is a County Monaghan name. If you have a picture of Maurice, I would like to see if there is any family resemblance.
