Cheryl, what part of John McCarron's family are you looking at, or are you researching all branches? J. Douglas Bradshaw put out a book on John's son,Michael's family, entitled "the family of Michael Curren and Sarah Crawford of Columbiana County,Ohio". It contains some speculation and hearsay bout the name changes as well as part of a letter from EWJ Lindesmith to Thomas McKarns, son of Benjamin McKarns, in which EWJ relates a story told to him by Rachael Earl McCarron about her husband's experiences. It's interesting reading, but only the first few pages deal with Michael's parents and/or siblings. I have been in contact with a descendant of Elizabeth McKarns Lindesmith, who is also looking for info on this family. (see the message on this forum dated 11-30-01).
