Mary Ann McCARLEY, b 3 Sep 1829 Laurens Dist., SC, d 18 Jun 1873 Laurens Co., SC, was the dau of Capt. Alexander McCARLEY (1807-1899) and Isabella H. FOWLER (1808-1847). The minister who performed Mary Ann's wedding was the Rev. Zelotes Lee HOLMES, a Presbyterian minister in Laurens Dist. Rev. Z. L. HOLMES discusses some of Mary Ann's FOWLER, PARK and SIMPSON lineage in The Simpson Genealogy, which may be found online at <http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/4492/simpson.htm>. Mary Ann and her parents were buried at Old Fields (aka Warrior Creek) Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Ora, Laurens Co., SC.
