I need a source to verify or strongly believe that John McCarley was born abt. 1754 in S.C. m: Elizabeth Unknown. I see this stated everywhere as fact but no one has been able to give me a source. I have seen reference to his will, probated 21 July 1783 in Anderson Co., S.C., stating that he was married to Elizabeth but have never seen the entire will. Has anyone seen this will? Does it name children or any other helpful information?
This John married an Elizabeth Unknown, his son (my 4th greatgrandfather) had a son John that married Elizabeth "Betsy" Patton.
It is said that John had a brother was Moses J. b. abt. 1755 and he married 1. Elizabeth Boyd and 2. Elizabeth Patton in 1792 Montgomery Co., KY. That is a lot of Elizabeth's and I can see where mistakes could be made.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
