Hi Billy, Thank you for all the help!!!! I have been to Franklin several times. There appears to be LOTS of unmarked graves--many are DODRILL's. I had hoped that one of them was a Robert Bishop. Robert died 9/28/1867 intestate (no will). He was my 3rd great grandfather. His bible was sold for a nickel to his oldest son--Charles Bishop (who is also buried in Franklin Cemetery)--on the first row to the left of the drive way. Charles is there with his 2 wives and a daughter. There are other married Bishop's there with various other last names. I have been trying to trace the Charles Bishop descendents to hopefully get a copy of the dates/births in that Bible he purchased. The BISHOPS came from VA/WVA about 1830/1840 timeperiod (before the Census lists everyone in the household). So I can't find him over in Va/WVA since he was still in his UNKNOWN father's hh. We have been looking for over 20 years. We wanted to erect a headstone to him if we could prove he was in Franklin Cemetery. On to your McCarley's. Thanks so much, it helped me combine a lot of files because I wasn't sure if John V had 2 wives. So that lets me connect them. However, you called John V and John Harry both grandpa so I'm confused. John V. was the father of John Harry. Who was John Harry's wife? Your father is from John Harry? I have 2 children for Lucy. They are Julia who marries the Long and John Harry but I don't have his wife. I don't think John Harry's mother can be Lucy because of the birthdates that I have. Then I have Ida Mae with 2 children Dorothy who marries an Oiler and William Marion...so where does your father fit in? You can e-mail me at hcott@bellsouth.net if you prefer not to answer on line. I know a person who has done lots of research on the Niles...are you aware of Lucy's ancestors? If not, maybe you'd like to contact him. Helen Notify Administrator about this message?
