I have information on McCance's of Greyabbey dating back to a James McCance - farmer at Kilnatierney, Greyabbey. Born 1794. He had a daughter Elizabeth McCance (Eliza) b.1818, d. 29/01/1883. She married a William Stewart and had several children, several of whom left Greyabbey for USA. These were - James, William John, and Hugh Stewart.
Is this the same family ? If so I am a direct descentant of Eliza's brother John McCance.
