My GGGrandmother was Mary McCann. She married John Healy in Newcastle West in 1825. While trying to find other McCanns from that era, I found the following McCanns.
RICHARD 8/6/1816, ELLEN 9/7/1817, PIERCE 10/9/1820, FRANCIS 12/5/1828,(these are Baptismal dates) these four were born in Newcastle West, and their father was James Mccann. Francis seems to have a different mother than the previous three. I know there is a connection to my GGGrandmother, as their Christian names were passed down in the family. If anyone whose has done research on this branch of McCanns, and knows of a connection between these people, I would really love to know, so I can complete my family tree.
I also found three other McCanns from Newcastle West, Mary 4/3/1817, Michael 2/8/1818, William 20/2/1827. Parents were, Michael and Ellen Ryan. I guess they were all connected, as NCW was quite a small town in those days.
