I would like to know who are the parents of Eunice Belle McCandless, born November 23, 1843 in Butler County, Pennsylvania, died May 6, 1931 in Hastings, Nebraska. She married Joseph Franklin Schell on January 3, 1865 in Iowa City, Iowa. Her husband, Joseph F Schell b March 8, 1839 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, d April 15, 1916 in Hastings, Nebraska. Their children: William Frank, Mary Clora, Minnie Bell, Bessie Angelica, Charles Baumer, Frederick John, Joseph Martin, Agnes Rebecca, James Garfield, and Susan Elizabeth.
Eunice was more familiarly called "Belle" by her family. It was once thought that her surname was Loose, but it is now known to be McCandless. Her husband Joseph was a cavalryman and Indian fighter.
