I am researching Samuel Harper McCandless (b. 27 Jan, 1817, York County, PA, d. 20 Jan, 1862, McDonough County, IL). Married Delia Reed on October 8, 1847 in Fulton County, IL.
His father was William McCandless (b. ca. 1791, York County, PA, d. 24 Sep, 1863, McDonough County, IL). William McCandless is
buried at Bardolph Cemetery, Macomb Township, McDonough County, Illinois with wife, Mary Harper, (b. 3 Jul, 1795, York County, PA) and son, Samuel Harper McCandless.
Here the trail has gone cold. I do not have a solid birthdate/place for William or his parents.
