I have Andrew McCampbell. Born, 1754, in what became Rockbridge County, Virginia. Married, March 12, 1782, to Agnes (Nancy) Chambers in Rockbridge County, Virginia by Rev. John Brown. Died, 1799.
Agnes (Nancy) Chambers. Born, April 17m, 1757, in what became Rockbridge County, Virginia. Died, October 5, 1837, in Knox County, Tennessee and is buried in the Anderson - Gouffon Cemetery in Knox County. Married, April 8, 1779, to William Anderson in Rockbridge County, Virginia.
Their son, Andrew B. McCampbell. Born, March 22, 1797, in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He read law under his brother, John A. McCampbell, of Knoxville. In 1822 and 1823, he was cashier of the State Bank at Knoxville. He moved to Paris, Tennessee in 1824 and, in 1840, was elected Chancellor of the Western Disgtrict of Tennessee for an eight year term. He declined re-election to that position and positions on the Tennessee Cupreme Court. He traveled by buggy, disliking trains and boats - once he was a "guest" of the Union Army on a boat. Died, January 4, 1884, and is buried at Paris, Tennessee. Married, March 24, 1826, to Sarah Louise Hampton in Henry County, Tennessee. They had three sons in the Confederate Army.
Sarah Louise Hampton. Born, October 18, 1807, in North Carolina, daughter of Noah Hampton and Ann Love. Died, April 16, 1850, and isw buried at Paris, Tennessee. Sarah's twin sister, Ursilla Hampton, was the grandmother of Sarah Louise Mills and the mother of Andrew R. Bryan.
The youngest son of Andrew and Sarah was Robert B. McCampbell. Born, April 10, 1850. Died, May 4, 1897, and is buried in McCampbell Cemetery at Paris, Tennessee. Married, first, March 19, 1883, to E. J. Lowery in Henry County, Tennessee and, second, December 14, 1888, to Sarh Ann leegan Rhodes in Benton County, Tennessee by James N. Alsup, J.P.
James R. McCampbell who married Lillian Faye Dortch was a son of Robert and Sarah.
